Thomas Bretschneider
Thomas Bretschneider, RMT Thomas Bretschneider has been providing focused, therapeutic treatment for over 14 years. After graduating from an intensive 3,000-hour massage therapy program in 2012, he spent over a decade working in multidisciplinary chiropractic and physiotherapy clinics.
Clinical Expertise & Specializations:
• Sports injuries & Whiplash recovery
• Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) rehabilitation
• Chronic tension & Mobility restrictions
Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, Thomas uses a targeted assessment to address the true source of your pain. He specializes in combining:
• Deep Tissue Massage & Myofascial Release
• Joint Mobilization
• Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) & PNF Stretching
• Trigger Points therapy
Note: As a personal and professional preference, Thomas conducts approximately 50% of his hands-on treatments wearing medical gloves.
Beyond the Table Thomas brings a rare level of expertise to his practice, having spent six years as a Lead Instructor teaching second-year massage therapy students. When he isn’t helping clients restore their mobility, he enjoys exploring movement through fitness, nutrition, martial arts, and salsa dancing.
Muscle energy techniques (MET): The patient uses their own muscles to push against a gentle force from the therapist. This helps relax tight muscles, reduce pain, and move stiff joints better.
PNF stretching: proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation is an advanced stretching technique that tricks your nervous system into relaxing tight muscles.
Trigger point: restricted myo-fascia can develop hyperirritable spots that lead to localized or referred pain (myofascial pain syndrome).
